Welcome to Home Education
From Monday life as we know will be very different! I have read lots of social media posts about what we should and shouldn’t do with our children. I plan to take every day as it comes, try for a little routine and learn to enjoy the simpler things in life.
But at the same time, I also plan to support all of you and help you help your children with maths. Whether you want to do a little or a lot, whether your child wants to do ‘work’ or would rather learn via play - there will be something for everyone.
I will be releasing ‘daily’ video tutorials and workbooks that will be based on a specific topic in the primary school curriculum on my website, via Instagram, Facebook and on my newly created YouTube Channel. The video tutorials will set the scene for your understanding of the topic and guidance on what to do with your child. The workbook will contain learning notes for you and maths questions / activities set by the academic year. You will be able to find the right level for your child(ren) and work through the content. Remember that you can always do all the questions / activities up to and including the year your child is in. And if your child is capable and willing, they can always attempt the next year up with your help.
The “Make you own maths aids” resource booklet is already available to download here and you can find the video that goes along with it here.
I am doing all of this for FREE however I have put a donation page on my website with suggested amounts. If you like what you see and are in a position to donate, it would be greatly appreciated.
I will also be doing LIVE Q&A sessions at times - most probably focusing on a topic or year group. It will be lead by feedback and questions from you. If you want a specific topic covered or need questions answers then just let me know via email on contact@themathsmum.co.uk or via any of my social media channels.
These sessions will most likely be first thing in the morning or in the evening after 7pm because clearly I will be doing my own Home Education / Entertainment / Refereeing / Crisis Management / Inventive Cooking during the day!
Good luck everyone.
Stay safe, stay distant and Love Maths!
