Offering to SCHOOLs

We offer a range of courses, topical workshops, ‘coffee morning’ talks and assemblies to schools.

All of The Maths Mum® courses can be delivered in a school setting to parents, carers, learning skills and teaching assistants. It is an excellent use of the Pupil Premium budget to target the families of children who would most benefit from increased support at home. It is also a way to up skill learning skills and teaching assistants to deliver maths intervention at school confidently.

The Maths Mum® can also run workshops on any aspect of the KS1 and KS2 Maths Curriculum. We have the ability to cater to both small and larger groups and cover the whole curriculum in a light touch fashion or do in-depth subject specific workshops.

Popular workshops are:

  • The New Vocabulary of Maths

  • Partitioning Uncovered

  • Mental Maths Strategies

  • Multiplication Magic

  • Long Division Unpicked

The Maths Mum® has become an inspirational speaker who is passionate about tackling the ‘bad press’ maths has today.

We have coffee morning talks and presentations on ‘Maths Phobia’ and ‘Maths Anxiety’. Addressing parents on how their opinion of maths can have a great influence on their children’s attitude and ability to learn. And we look at ways to change and improve their relationship with maths. It is a great opening for schools to encourage parental involvement with maths.

We can also deliver School Assemblies to specific year groups or the whole school. A recent assembly delivered was to a Year 2 group of pupils - explaining to them how school has changed since their parents’ time and why their way of doing Maths was the right way. Empowering the kids to teach their parents the right way!

The Maths Mum® would like maths to be loved by parents and children in equal measure. “I love Maths to the power of two”.
