The Maths Mum® ‘Maths for Life’ Lesson 3 - Lance

Here is an outline of the maths that was being worked on / assessed:

1. Simple Comparison - More / Less - ‘Who has more....'

2. 'Count how many...' up to 10 - footballs are placed in a circle, it is important to identify a starting point and know when to stop counting.  Using the number line to check correct way to write numbers.

3. 'Count how many...' up to 20 - crocodiles are placed in the line, it is important to remember to come back up to the top and count the second line.  Using number line to identify number 14 and write it correctly.

4.  'Simple Subtraction' up to 5 - read the question, understand to give to means to take away, modelled with concrete cubes, create the number sum / sentence, check answer with Numicon and on the calculator.

5. 'Simple Subtraction up to 10 - read the question, understand to give to means to take away, understand the meaning of zero, modelled with concrete cubes, create the number sum / sentence, check answer with the calculator.
