View it through the eyes of a child...

When you see a number puzzle remember to look at it from the eyes and mindset of a child with learning difficulties.  If they perceive it too difficult they will not engage.  If they perceive it too easy they may not be interested.  We need to engage with a child just right.  And sometimes that means providing some additional support, so additional visual aid.
